PORTRAIT OF AN OLDER BUT WISER WOMAN

CLARISSA
I call her Clarissa.  While I was sketching her, she spoke of regrets and truths.  I thought about my own choices and paths while I drew her.  Had I learned anything over my own years...or was I sliding along, taking life as it came to me?  Clarissa has something to say, to reveal, and to teach. I hope I was willing to listen and learn...

I saw this and thought of my mother. You drew a look of calm acceptance of what she is on the face. nice.

She was a neat lady. I asked what her heritage was, and she mentioned her family came over from Russia a few generations back. She was a wonderful model. Wish all of them were so interesting and easy!
